Swedish Massage

About Swedish Massage

A Swedish massage is known as the “classic massage” it is both relaxing and energising and also has the benefit of increasing endorphins and removing toxins from the body.

It involves soft, long, strokes such as effleurage, kneading and petrissage. Light, rhythmic, tapping strokes such as friction, vibration and tapotement are also used to increase blood flow and circulation.

A tradition Swedish massage covers the whole body, after your consultation is customised to your specific needs to maximise the benefits. It is a soft to medium intensity massage rather than a deep tissue massage.

The warm stones will be placed on key acupressure points on your body. The stones warm and relax your muscles, allowing deeper pressure to be applied during your massage. The basalt hot stones will be oiled and used with a combination of strokes and techniques.
